  • Our Stone-Ground Dirty Grits are milled fresh in small batches in Wilsonville, Alabama, where we’ve been grinding corn since 2002. They are a natural blend created during the transition between milling organic blue corn and organic yellow corn. Instead of letting this unique combination go unused, we decided to share it — and it has quickly become a customer and staff favorite.

    Ground using the same stone-milled process as our traditional grits, they retain the germ and bran, giving them the hearty, creamy texture people love in our products.

  • Ingredients:
    • Organic blue corn
    • Organic yellow corn

    This natural blend comes straight from the transition of milling one organic corn variety to the other, without additives or preservatives. Each batch is stone-ground slowly to preserve flavor, texture, and nutritional value.

  • Dirty Grits — Old-Fashioned Style
    Ingredients
    • 4 cups water
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 cup Dirty Grits
    • 2 tablespoons butter
    • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

    Directions
    1.      Bring the water and salt to a boil in a heavy saucepan.

    2.      Gradually whisk in the Dirty Grits.

    3.      Reduce heat and simmer uncovered, stirring often, for 20–25 minutes, or until thick and creamy.

    4.      Remove from heat; stir in butter and pepper.

    Yield: 4 servings.

    • Replace 1 cup of water with milk or broth for a richer texture.
    • Stir frequently for smooth, even grits.
    • Add extra liquid for a softer, looser consistency.
